Derelict Building

This is one of the few remaining properties which give some idea of what the old East End of Sunderland was like. It is situated on High Street East and is an example of the typical three story terraced building that lined this street. It and it's neighbour (just seen on the right) have been derelict for some time and have been badly neglected considering how much the East End has been totally re-vamped in the last 10 years.

Welcome to the Daily Photo Club Sharon, needless to say I will know most of the locations for your shots very well indeed (I've been visiting Sunderland to watch The Lads since 1963!) It's good to see the changing face of Sunderland as the new replaces the old, especially around the port area.

So that's all of the three main towns in Tyne and Wear covered now.

Thanks for your encouragement Curly. Been a fan of your blog for some time now and if mine's half as good as yours I'll be over the moon.

I bet it was a busy place once upon a time. Maybe it will come back to life yet.

Perhaps it should be done up, if it is one of the few remaining buildings of this type left.

It looks like it was an interesting building before its decay.
