Finchale Priory, Durham

These pictures of Finchale were taken on my Samsung D-900 Mobile Phone.

Finchale Priory was a 13C Benedictine Monastery. There are a few remains of the early 12C stone from the stone chapel of John the Baptist. Now managed by English Heritage

Down on the river bank

No matter how long you live some where, there is always some where else to take photos from. In Sunderland there are loads of places the same in Newcastle and Tyne and Wear, these were taken down by the river bank near the Queen Alexander Bridge

Visit to Holy Trinity Church

This was my first visit and hopefully not my last, its a shame its now closed. I was happy to learn that their plans to refurbished and hopefully reopen. This church stands in old Sunderland town in the east end.

Holy Trinity opened its doors for the first time in 1719 and closed it doors as a church in 1988 it is now owned by the churches conservation trust, the trust allow it to be open on special occasions.
